Electrical Package and Controls
Starters, relays and PLC are located in a separate free standing enclosure. An isolation transformer is installed ahead of the AC drives.
Each AC motor is controlled and independently configured by a vector drive controller which is used to control speed, hard or soft, or regulate torque.
All drives have full regeneration capabilities to the common DC bus. With the common DC bus, the energy produced by a regenerating drive can be fed into the system, i.e. during the PL run entry bridle drives can be used to power the exit bridle drives, thereby significantly reducing incoming power requirement from the incoming three phase supply.
An operator station with all tension leveler functions and pushbuttons to operate and control the tension leveler is supplied (as mentioned in Section A above). It incorporates an HMI Panel View Plus operator interphase. The PLC controlling the tension leveler is integrated with the push-pull pickle line PLC via Ethernet cabling.
Hydraulic Power Unit
The additional power required for the tension leveler operation will be supplied from a separate unit with the following specifications:
Pumps - 3 plus 1 standby, 29 gpm each, variable displacement
Motors - 3 plus 1 standby, 30 HP each
Reservoir - 300 gal, mineral oil, with water cooler
Pressure - 1,650 psi max, 1500 psi operating
